Microsoft patches serious vulnerability in Office

Microsoft is urging all users of Office and Microsoft 365 to update their software as soon as possible. The reason: hackers have begun exploiting a serious vulnerability known as CVE-2026-21509 in order to access sensitive information on computers.

To protect against the vulnerability, users need to install a security fix currently being rolled out to the public.

Office 2016 and later versions are affected by the vulnerability, but newer versions will receive the updates first, according to Bleeping Computer,
