In this paper, different addressing techniques for driving 2D reftectarrays based on Liquid Crystal are analyzed, considering the practical advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Their specific performance implications in mm-wave devices, as well as the main challenges and differences with respect to optical devices, are discussed and analyzed for the first time, and practical implementation guidelines are reported.
