High resolution or high speed? PC gamers often have to pick one or the other when looking for a gaming monitor. But with this LG OLED, you can have the best of both worlds thanks to its dual-mode function: gorgeous 4K or speedy 1080p. It’s normally a hefty $1,300 for the 32-inch display, but Best Buy is offering it for $799.99 right now.

The UltraGear 32GX850A uses LG’s dual-mode switching system. You can pick between 4K resolution at a respectable 165Hz refresh rate, for video or graphics-heavy, cinematic games, or chop the pixels into quarters and run it at 1080p to double the speed, up to 330Hz. That makes this a great OLED upgrade if you enjoy both high-end games and super-twitchy rounds of Counter-Strike. And, with .03 milliseconds response time and compatibility with G-Sync and FreeSync, it’s likely that this panel is faster than my worn-out human eyeballs.

Other than that headline feature, this monitor is a bit short on extras, with just a pair of USB-A ports making it a cumbersome duo with a gaming laptop. But DisplayPort and double HDMI means it would work great with a game console at your desk. LG also didn’t bedeck it with any RGB lighting, which I kind of like, though there is a VESA mount for a monitor arm.

There’s no indication of how long this sale will last, though with Black Friday coming up in a month, so waiting for something better is definitely a choice. In the meantime, you can check out PCWorld’s picks for the best monitors.
